In Motion: the Soundtrack to my Life

I can't stop listening to Copeland's "In Motion" CD.  It currently exemplifies everything.

 Some of my favorite tracks:

#1 - No One Really Wins
#2 - Choose the One Who Loves You More
#4 - Sleep
#6 - Don't Slow Down
#7 - Love is a Fast Song
#8 - You Have My Attention
#10 - Hold Nothing Back

What's the current soundtrack to your life?

Impaired driver hits dancer, shattering her knee, Springville police say

Here is the link to that news article we were just talking about. Some idiot hit a girl while driving under the influence one day after appearing in court for the charge.

Lydia Farewell Show

I had the interesting opportunity to go to Lydia's Farewell Show this past weekend. Mainly because I needed somewhere to go on a first date that was not a lame movie, bowling, or miniature golfing (for some reason first dates have to be cool and then you can do the "lame stuff" on later dates). Lydia was the only show that was close and appeared to be somewhat decent. I had only heard one or two songs by them before the show. Overall it was not a terrible show, but it was mediocre at best. They did sound tight and together, the vocalist had a somewhat unique voice and sung in tune, but there was nothing really special about them that stuck out. Other than the bassist somehow got fatter as the show went on. It was like he ate 3-4 burgers every time the vocalist played solo songs (which he did two or three times during the show). All four members, especially the vocalist, appeared to be obviously done and had NO desire to be there, and the show was evident of that. They just seemed to be going through the motions and trying to get to the end. The vocalist still said that the SLC crowd was the best they have had on tour (LIAR). If you are going to say something at least be sincere. They were just doing, playing, and saying everything required to keep their fan base. Overall it was a so-so show, but not worth 15 dollars for me and my whole family. If bands know they are going to break up and do not have any desire to play on the road anymore, they should just stay home.
Thanks

Brumby interview on next week's show

Las Vegas's own Brumby
We had the great opportunity to interview a band from Las Vegas this week, named Brumby.  We had Oliver Tingey and Tyler Tingey in-studio, and learned some fun and interesting things about the four-piece self-labeled "Brit rockers".  Additionally, we play every song off their brand new three-track EP which just came out on Tuesday, called Rosebud.

Indie Means Independent will air the whole thing on next week's show, Wednesday, August 18, right around 6:50 PM MST.  Tune in to catch the words and the music, only on K-UTE Radio.

In the meantime, swing by Brumby's Facebook page, where you can download the entire Rosebud EP for free.

Punchline - Delightfully Pleased review

Punchline's newest full-length studio album, Delightfully Pleased, came out last Tuesday, August 10.  We played the whole thing from front to back on Wednesday's show, and I review the album below.  I loved it, and while it's still not my favorite Punchline album, it's definitely a solid release with catchy songs.

Public Bathrooms At Work

So some of the dudes I work with for some reason find it okay to fart while urinating in the urinals. But they don't just fart, they push it out as hard as they can. I think the bathroom atmosphere makes them feel its acceptable. Well it is not! Let it out softly like you would at your desk! That way we don't all have to hear it! Just because you are in a bathroom doesn't mean anything goes. It is freaking annoying when you are trying to do your business and someone has to distract you like that. I stage fright easily. One dude always hacks up loogies and spits them in the urinal. And he makes it as loud as possible. That always makes me feel right at home, let me tell ya. I love it! And one more thing I hate about public bathrooms at work. If I am in there doing my thing that does not mean I want to talk to you while you do your thing. The bathroom is not called the social room. So just be quiet and finish what is needed and leave!

Thank You
